I recently had three book releases. A m/f erotic romance with Liquid Silver Books titled Banged Up, a m/m erotic novella, Rip Cord with Phaze, and my most recent is Double Dare with Loose Id. It released on January 5th. I had some fans buy it as soon as it went on sale at midnight and read it immediately. I was flattered.

I wrote Double Dare because I was interested in trying to write a ménage (and because I love reading them). I decided to write a m/m/f in which there were already two males involved in a relationship.

Even though Double Dare was released AFTER Rip Cord, it was written before. So it truly was my first story written where I had to write sex scenes between two men. It was interesting and fun and I hope I did the boys justice. In addition, it’s my first interracial. I have a thing about men in uniform. So in this story, one of my heroes, Ty, is an ex-pro football player. Needless to say, there were a lot of firsts in this book. But I enjoyed writing it so much that I wrote it quickly.

Another interesting point with this book is that the publisher, Loose Id, has it categorized as BDSM. When I wrote it I never even considered it BDSM. I made Logan the dominant and Ty the submissive in the story since I knew one of the boys had to be the alpha (though Ty is no wilting flower!). Then the more I wrote the more creative I got in the sex scenes and added a bit of kink – though never thinking I added enough to have it considered BDSM! I included the publisher’s note at the bottom of the blurb. It makes me smile every time I read it.

Anyway, I hope the readers enjoy this crazy ride as much as I enjoyed writing it. So far I have gotten great feedback!

DOUBLE DARE’S BLURB:

What could be better than waking up next to a hot guy? Waking up sandwiched between two of them.

Quinn Preston, a financial analyst, is not happy when her friends dare her to pick up a handsome stranger at a wedding reception. What better reason to give up men when her previous long-term relationship had not only been lackluster in the bedroom but he had cheated?

Logan Reed, a successful business owner, can't believe that he's attracted to the woman in the ugly, Pepto-Bismol pink bridesmaid dress. And to boot, she's more than tipsy. After turning down her invitation for a one-night stand, he finds her in the parking lot too impaired to drive. He rescues her and takes her home. His home.

The next morning Quinn's conservative life turns on its ear when Logan introduces her to pleasures she never even considered before. And to make things more complicated, Logan already has a lover.

Tyson White, ex-pro football player, is completely in love with Logan. He has mixed emotions when Logan brings home Quinn. But the dares keep coming...

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, BDSM theme & content, male/male sexual practices, ménage (m/m/f).

1. If you HAD to replace your best friend with either a) Amy Winehouse, or b) Britney Spears, who would it be?

Wow.  I love this question.  It's downright cruel.  I've gotta go with Amy Winehouse.  If I'm dealing with that level of drama, I want a British accent to go with it.

2. One of your villains shows up at your door.  What do you do?

I think if any of my characters showed up at my door I should probably run like hell.  I doubt any of them appreciate the things I put them through - the way I meddle in their lives and play god.  And some of them have claws!  Best to keep them on the other side of the door and make a break for the garage & my getaway car.

3. What is your favorite cuss word, and why?

It's like I'm on the Actor's Studio!  Well, James, I love getting creative with swearing, especially using unusual compounds.  Crapadelic is one of my favorites, but I also have a real soft spot for a nice traditional dammit or f**king hell.

4. St. Peter meets you at the Pearly Gates.  What's the first thing he says to you?

"So I hear you like to play God.  Knock it off.  We have one of those already."

5. Which of your villains are you most like and why?

Is it really disturbing to admit there is a little of me in all of them?  I'm not sure if he counts as a villain, but the poltergeist from my first novella had a distinct similarity to me.  A dweebie accountant with delusions of grandeur... yep, that sounds familiar.

The bitch is back, and nothing gets in her way. Except her own heart…

Shana Delray is hissing mad. The pride’s Alpha has chosen a mate—and it’s not her. Bred to be his consort, she’s not going to let some runt of the litter take her destined place—no matter how much ass she has to kick in the process.

Her way back into the pride is Caleb Minor—her former lover, the Alpha’s loyal enforcer…and the runt’s brother. And if she has to go through Caleb to get what she wants, so be it. She’ll do whatever it takes to pry the little usurper out of her way.

Caleb’s familiarity with Shana’s manipulative ways serves him well when he’s assigned to keep the seething she-cat in line. A nearly impossible task, as he’s forced to use his body—in more ways than one—to save her from herself. Now if only he can save his battered heart from the explosive desire that isn’t as dormant as he’d thought.

Caleb’s stronger now. Tougher and harder. And, to Shana’s fury, he won’t be used. The harder she pushes, the more she finds her heart yielding…and suddenly she wonders if she can somehow win back the man she spent a decade trying to destroy…

Warning: This book contains manipulations and power plays (in and out of the bedroom), a naughty kitten who deserves a good spanking, and a second chance at that first love.

Necessary Madness by Lisabet Sarai
M/M contemporary paranormal holiday erotic romance (try saying that three times fast!)

Nineteen year old Kyle sees visions of disasters, visions that tear his world apart. Everyone assumes that he is schizophrenic, but Rob, the cop who picks him up off the street, knows better. Rob's own experience has taught him that psychic powers are real, and potentially devastating.

Since his telepathic sister's brutal murder, Rob wants nothing to do with "gifted" individuals like Kyle. Yet he can't deny his attraction to the beautiful, tortured young man -- an attraction that appears to be mutual. When a brilliant, sadistic practitioner of the black arts lures Kyle into his clutches, Rob faces the possibility that once again he may lose the person he loves most to the forces of darkness.

Note to the reader: When I was in my late teens, I became anorexic. I spent several months in the acute ward of a state psychiatric hospital. I was suffering from a sort of limited insanity when it came to food, but was still sufficiently alert to observe and interact with my fellow inmates. I came to realize that the dividing line between sanity and madness is perhaps an illusion. After all, I acted sane, rational, highly intelligent. People thought that I was a member of the staff. That is, until someone tried to get me to eat, and I became a weeping, screaming, totally irrational and clearly disturbed patient. And it wasn't just me. I met other brilliant and intriguing people on that ward. There was Spyder, the guy with the lanky hair and tattoos, who created such amazing drawings in art therapy even though he never said a word. There was Lucy with her guitar, mother of two and veteran of four suicide attempts, who taught me songs of love and longing that I still sing today. Who was I to label them crazy?

The germ of /Necessary Madness/ comes from those experiences of mine, those months locked away in an institution. Kyle, one of the heroes of the book, is about the same age as I was back then. He has the power to see the future, but he can't control it. Horrible visions of disasters yet to occur haunt him day and night. Everyone assumes that Kyle is schizophrenic. He has done his time in the psych ward, his visions blunted but not obliterated by medication. If he's not yet mad, his power is slowly driving him in that direction. Killing himself seems like the only way out.

Julia Knight ~ 5 Quirky Questions

New Releases , 5 Quirky Questions 1 Comment »

1. If you could invite any famous person, dead or alive, for dinner, who would it be?

Only one? Dang it.  And they have to be real, not fictional? Double dang it. Hmm well, depends what mood I'm in. Karl Urban if I'm going for eye candy. :D  Other than that I think either Hunter S Thompson, or Salvidor Dali. It'd be interesting if nothing else!

2. Do you have or have you ever wanted to get a tattoo?

I have three - one chinese dragon, one tribal dragon and one Rohirrim flag ( I am completely in love with Eomer from Lord of the Rings. If I could have had a fictional character for dinner….)

3. What was your first kiss like?

Rather smokin', as it happens. I was fifteen and he kind of swept me away with it. Romantic, passionate, the whole deal.  Man, that guy looked hot in a pair of leather trousers. *sigh*

4. You're forced into marriage, but you get the choice between two men (and no, you can't write in that you're already married, pick a name LOL).  Hugh Hefner or Mini Me.

Mini Me. He's till young enough to have plenty of stamina….wait did I say that out loud? (Um, hell yes you did  LMAO)

5. Burger King or McDonalds?

Burger King, for sure. I love double whoppers with cheese, with all that sauce. Yum.

Blurb

Break his oath, he loses his soul. Keep it—and he loses his heart.

Oathcursed, Book Two

Devastated crops force regent Lord Hunter to do the one thing he always swore he’d never do: form an alliance with the neighboring tribal kingdom. The oath to offer his beloved foster son in marriage, however, begins digging holes in his heart the moment he meets the intended bride. He can’t afford to fall in love with the alluring Reethan Chieftain, not if he’s to keep his oath—and his soul—intact.

Nerinna has always used her charms to manipulate her tribal chiefs, as tradition demands. But Lord Hunter’s honest, passionate nature intrigues her like no other man’s has before, challenging her cynical notions. Her wiles have no effect on him. In fact, her every action only seems to alienate him more.

Although their desire hangs thick and heavy in the air, Hunter keeps to the letter of his oath—until the god of justice decrees that Hunter must die. Nerinna knows of only one way to save him: offer herself in exchange. It’s a sacrifice Hunter can’t allow her to make, but to defy the priest means he must choose a side.

With his god—or against him.

Warning: Includes a sultry temptress, a noble hero, a fatal attraction, a sarcastic wizard, a forbidden passion, a vengeful god, a sly priest and a religious war. Oh, and people spontaneously combusting.

1. Do your characters speak to you?  If so, is there drinking involved?

Only one of my characters talks directly to me, and that’s Conrad Flynn from my super agent series. He’s very opinionated and loves to dominate every book I write, so I have to talk back to him or send him to my editor to reign him in. The other characters don’t actually talk to me so much as they show just up and act out the scenes in their stories. I sit back and watch, then type. Works beautifully. If I get stuck in a spot, I’ll sometimes ask them questions, but cross my heart, no drinking is involved! I’m just crazy.

2. If you could trade places with one of your characters, would you want to?

Some days, yes! When my kids are arguing nonstop, I’ve got a migraine, the phone’s ringing and I’m on deadline, I’d gladly trade places with one of my female super agents for a few hours. Maybe going head-to-head with a terrorist or stopping a bomb with my iPod would give me perspective and help me appreciate the little things…even if I have a migraine. I wouldn’t trade lives with them permanently, mind you, but a short vacation to the land of intrigue and hotshot spies is tempting some days.

3. You're stranded in a log cabin during a blizzard...who would you pick to be with...Fabio or Arnold Schwarzenegger?  (and yes, you have to cuddle LOL)

All cuddling aside, I’d pick Arnold. First of all, in a survival situation, his body mass alone could keep me warm for days. Secondly, he’s the Terminator. If he can’t save me from the perils of being stranded, who could? Thirdly, think of all the great gossip and scoop he could tell me about the rich and famous he’s met over the years while we sip hot cocoa by the fire. It’d be like having my own personal TMZ.

4. Which character from The Breakfast Club were you most like in high school?

I love the Breakfast Club. It’s one of my all time favorite movies (yes, I’m a big-hair eighties gal).

Who was I most like? Well, that’s tough to answer since, as the movie explores, labels are simple and convenient but rarely accurate when it comes to human beings. Like most kids, I went through a metamorphosis in high school. Freshman year, I acted a bit like Claire (Princess), then I fell off my throne and morphed into a version of John (Criminal) with some self destructive behavior my sophomore year. Junior year, I pulled back from everything, tried to become invisible, and some of my friends thought I was an Allison (Basket Case) because I wouldn’t date a football player. I was really just figuring out who I was and what made me happy and said football player wasn’t on the list. *grin*

My senior year, I came back with a vengeance. While I was no Brian (Brainiac) I did study hard and made straight A’s. I also was never like Andy (Athlete) but I starred in two theater productions and gave a speech at graduation. All of that’s why TBC appeals to me so much. I can see parts of myself in each character and how they peel back and reveal their inner layers in the movie reflects what I did during that time as well.

5. It's either/or and you can't choose death: book signing with a 4'x 2' color stand-up of your tawdriest book cover in the most conservative area of your state and your parents on the way OR perform your novel as interpretive dance in Times Square wearing only hastily stitched-together scarves?

Either. My tawdiest book cover is pretty tame and my parents read my stories, so that’s not a big deal. I grew up and still live in a very Christian conservative area. People either accept what I write and love me anyway, or they talk about me behind my back and refuse to buy my books. Only one or two that I know of have done the later. I’m actually amazed at how many conservative people read my super agent series and even my witch story, tell me they love them, and understand they’re fiction. They don’t judge me and I don’t judge them. Beautiful!

On that note, let me share this: Years ago I went to my dad, concerned about revealing some personal information in an article I’d written for a parenting magazine. I worried it would embarrass certain members of my family. He gave me the best advice any writer can get: “Don’t worry about what other people think. Write what you want to write and be proud of it.” To this day, I embrace those words.

As far as performing in Times Square…I can be a ham and if anyone would actually watch me dance in nothing but scarves, I’d do it. Now THAT might embarrass my family!

He makes the rules. She breaks them. This battle of wills just crossed the line…to deadly.

Elite CIA operative Zara Morgan has a reputation as a loose cannon with a penchant for breaking the rules. Now she’s got a chance to prove she can be a competent field officer, but the test doesn’t end there. She’s been paired with sexy covert ops team leader Lawson Vaughn, a man who lives and breathes protocol.

Methodical is Lawson’s middle name. He specializes in high-risk search and rescue, not missions that involve tracking down terrorists. Especially while trying to keep the lid on a partner who has a problem with authority and skates by on wits and bravado.

Even before they get on the plane for Paris they’re under each other’s skin…and fighting a scorching sexual attraction. Drawn into an unauthorized game of vengeance, Lawson is forced to dance a tightrope in order to protect his partner from their quarry—a terrorist who’s about to unleash a biological nightmare on the Muslim world. And Zara is the first target.

With her life, and that of millions of innocent people, on the line, Lawson must become the one thing he despises. A renegade.
